Here is the second in the six part presidential series in honor of Tuesday’s inauguration and the season of founding presidential birthdays. This week’s motivational and inspirational thoughts come from the winner of last week’s contest Jasmine Harris of North Carolina:

A leader should be humble enough to admit his/her inadequacies and put trust in the people he/she serves. I believe this was what Davis was getting at. There is no such thing as a perfect leader. It is clear the leader is only human. Yet it is important to let those who you serve know that their input is necessary for the success of leadership.

Jasmine’s favorite presidential quotation is from President Theodore Roosevelt:

Far and away the best prize that life offers is the chance to work hard at work worth doing.

No prizes this week but does anybody know when or for what occasion Theodore Roosevelt made those remarks?
